A project of Preserve Our Parks, A Wealth of Nature’s goal is to get people out to parks in a six-county area in Southeast Wisconsin to grow appreciation and support of the parks to ensure they are sustainably and adequately funded.
To grow awareness and build an engaged audience to visit, support and be a voice for the parks in Southeast Wisconsin, A Wealth of Nature needed assistance with its communications, particularly its digital strategy and diversification of its content creation.
The project director is a professional photographer and prolific blog content creator and curator. To enhance the visibility of this content, a critical first step was to complete a holistic assessment of the organization’s marketing and communications touchpoints. By taking a deep dive into website and social media analytics, we identified opportunities to improve engagement and grow the project’s audience.
This included moving to a new email platform and streamlining email content; setting brand guidelines for social content; creating a content calendar; making updates to the AWON website to improve engagement and increase email signups; and more. I also helped manage AWON’s two social channels through the duration of the 6-month contract.
The outcome of this digital strategy consulting and content creation work, AWON’s email and social audiences increased. Time on site increased as well, indicating greater engagement with blog and photography content.
